Come meet and greet with your fellow UNA-Atlanta members and Board of Directors as we assist Trees Atlanta in their NeighborWoods tree maintenance project and native prairie plantings along the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum. Attendees will gain a better understanding and sense of responsibility towards one of the most pressing issues of all time - global poverty and world hunger. Through an interactive demonstration, participants will understand the cause-and-effect relationship of the disparity of food and unequal wealth distribution.

March 4, 2014 6PM - 8PM Location: Georgia Institute of Technology, Klaus Building Lobby, 266 Ferst Drive, Atlanta, GA 30332 On November 18, 2014, Dr. Konrad Hayashi, Health Promotions Communications Coordinator of the Health Promotions West Africa Ebola response team talked to members and students about his experience working in Liberia on the Ebola outbreak. He shared images and stories from the front line, his experiences meeting local community leaders, healthcare providers, medical students. Dr. Hayashi answered questions on the Ebola virus' origins and movement, preventative measures, the global effort in containing the virus, and stigmatism surrounding survivors and healthcare providers. On October 26, 2014, The United Nations Association of Atlanta hosted a special presentation in celebration of United Nations Day. Guests heard about the history and current situation of Ukraine from Arden Stone, a recent Ukraine Peace Corps returnee.
