We are excited to announce that the United Nations Association of Atlanta (UNA-Atlanta) will be teaming up with Trees Atlanta for our summer UNA-Volunteer Day project! Come meet and greet with your fellow UNA-Atlanta members and Board of Directors as we assist Trees Atlanta in their  NeighborWoods tree maintenance project and native prairie plantings along the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum.

VERY IMPORTANT GROUP INFORMATION

• We will meet at 8 a.m. sharp at stable/kernel (address above). stable/kernel is located behind the Highland Bakery. The entrance is on a side street of Sampson St NE. Enter the building from Sampson St through the door under the yellow awning and follow the arrows upstairs. The office uses the same entrance as AGNI and Glass Eye Screenworks and is located right across the hall from AGNI. Regarding the parking space, members usually use the parking lot behind the church on Corley St next to Highland Bakery, or street parking if it's not full. We will carpool or you may drive your car to the Trees Atlanta Site located on the BeltLine under the Virginia Avenue Bridge.
• What Will We Be Doing? We will be planting in the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum meadow from 9 am to 12 pm.  If you drive independently from the group, it is HIGHLY important to arrive to this location at 8:40am as Trees Atlanta will only provide one demonstration (which takes 10 minutes) and every volunteer needs to see it.  All volunteers must stay for the entire project, and not leave before we finish.
• This project is best for ages 12 and up.  Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and all volunteers between the ages of 16 and 17 who are not accompanied by a parent/guardian must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver for them. 
• Please wear closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed.
• We recommend volunteers bring drinking water in a reusable container.  No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.
• Meadow planting is hard work, so make sure to tell everyone to eat a good breakfast and come prepared to work hard.  A snack might be a good thing for those who tend to lose steam.
• Projects happen rain or shine, so please check the weather beforehand and come prepared.
• Trees Atlanta will provide all necessary tools and instruction, though volunteers may prefer to bring their own work gloves as ours are not the nicest.  ​
