Voices of Youth: Mentally Strong and Resilient
Take a step towards a better tomorrow with the Global Goals!
We launched the Voices of Youth: Mentally Strong & Resilient campaign on August 12, 2022 in celebration of International Youth Day to recognize and promote youth mental fitness. After collecting videos from youth and working with our organizational partners, we are excited to share with you the collaborative video campaign on May 1, 2023 in celebration of the start of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Why is the Voices of Youth crucial?
The Voices of Youth video will let individuals, community leaders, educators…everyone get a glimpse of the various perspectives that youth across Atlanta and beyond have on mental health! By becoming aware of the relationship between mental fitness and the Global Goals, more informed decisions can be made to create accessible and effective mental healthcare. The video will be used in a speaker series providing resources and insights into caring for youth mental health, building a solid and fit mind, and overcoming life’s challenges as part of UNA-Atlanta and RCE Greater Atlanta’s Sustainable Coffee Talk series. All youth, educators, counselors, parents, and guardians are invited to participate in the free online speaker series.
This campaign supports Sustainable Development Goals 3: Good Health and Well-being, hoping to reduce stress and uplift youths. The Voices of Youth promotes Target 3.4 of Global Goal 3, which states, "by 2030, reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by one-third through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and well-being.”

What will the Voices of Youth achieve?
Voices of Youth aims to cultivate meaningful communication between youth and their parents, guardians, and caretakers. We hope to inspire the youth and their caring adult family and friends to routinely check in on each other’s mental fitness, offering the youth insights to understanding their feelings, how to cope with challenges, realizing how their mental burdens are shared by many and that they don’t have to be alone when it comes to achieving mental fitness.
