Candidate Betsy Rivard - VP of Programs (Re-election for 2nd Term)
I am the mother of three grown children and have a chemistry degree from the University of Wisconsin. My interest in the United Nations Association, Atlanta Chapter, goes back many years. I have held the offices of president, treasurer, and vice president for programs. I believe that through the United Nations Association, we can educate others about the important work of the United Nations and the urgent need for support of the UN by citizens of our country.
I am also active in other organizations in Atlanta, and am on the boards of three of them (Women’s Action for New Directions, both nationally and locally; Georgians for Gun Safety; and Nuclear Watch South). I feel that through my experience in these organizations I have made connections that have provided me with ideas for programs in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
