On November 18, 2014, Dr. Konrad Hayashi, Health Promotions Communications Coordinator of the Health Promotions West Africa Ebola response team talked to members and students about his experience working in Liberia on the Ebola outbreak. He shared images and stories from the front line, his experiences meeting local community leaders, healthcare providers, medical students. Dr. Hayashi answered questions on the Ebola virus' origins and movement, preventative measures, the global effort in containing the virus, and stigmatism surrounding survivors and healthcare providers.

Dr. Konrad Hayashi, Health Promotions Communications Coordinator of the Health Promotions West Africa Ebola response team, will talk about his experience working in Liberia on the Ebola outbreak. His assignment was a collaboration of efforts from various organizations: UNICEF, WHO, CDC, Carter Center, Doctors Without Borders. During July to September 2014, Dr. Hayashi worked with local Chiefs, community leaders, telecommunication companies in educational programs to inform the public on health practices to help in the containment of the virus. |
