Human Rights Day is marked every year on December 10 to commemorate the day in 1948 the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“Human rights are about people. They are about you and your life: your needs and wants and fears; your hopes for the present and the future,” said UN Human Rights Chief, Volker Türk, in his video message to mark Human Rights Day 2024.
